Second Series Of This Is Jinsy For Sky Atlantic!

Sky's surreal comedy back for series 2!

It's greenlight central today!

Not only have we learned that the great E4 drama Misfits will be back for a new series next year, we've now just found out that Sky Atlantic has ordered a second series of their hilarious comedy This Is Jinsy!

The Surreal comedy, which was originally piloted by BBC3, will return for another 8 x 30 minute series in 2013, produced by the Welded Tandem Picture Company.

This is Jinsy is based on a fantasy island and follows a cast of weird and wonderful characters.

The first series featured an amazing cast, which included actors David Tennant and Catherine Tate as well as Harry Hill, Kevin Eldon and Peter Serafinowicz.

Sky's head of comedy Lucy Lumsden said: "I can't wait to travel back to the wonderful island of Jinsy for another series of insanely brilliant comedy. Chris and Justin's creation is the perfect fit for Sky Atlantic HD and its wealth of unique story-telling."

Executive Producer Chris Carey added: "We are thrilled that Sky Comedy is bringing This Is Jinsy back to Sky Atlantic.

"Series two will be bigger, better and funnier. More songs, the return of our titanic tag team of director Matt Lipsey and editor Charlie Phillips, but most importantly another opportunity for Chris and Justin to put on wigs and generally tit around with stuffed animals."

This is another great move by Sky after we reported only yesterday that Sky1 had recommissioning their superb MI5 comedy Spy, starring Darren Boyd.

We expect Catherine Willis, who cast the first series of This Is Jinsy, to work on this second run.
